San Bernardino County is procuring approximately 35,000 – 85,000 pounds of catfish this year, to be stocked from May through September 2025. Totals shown on bid schedule are approximate and are minimum estimates for the period of contract in order not to over-contract. Quantities herein are an estimate and are not a guarantee of any quantity purchase as a result of this bid. Unless otherwise qualified, your bid shall be in accordance with: Fish Size: Fish contained in each delivered lot shall be graded as follows: 35% which average one pound each, 35% which average 1-1/2 to 2 pounds each, 30% which average over 2 pounds each. Exceptions to stated load size at delivery site must be noted with bid. Grading of fish shall be achieved by the box-grading method or other similar methods. Inspection: The park supervisor or designee shall oversee the loading, inspect the sizes of fish in each load to assure the fish furnished are as ordered, and see the removal of dead and dying fish is made from each load before the live fish are placed in the lake. Transportation and Equipment: The fish furnished shall be transported in tank truck equipped with standard pump and equipment for constantly aerating the fish and be cared for in transit in strict conformity with best practices of the trade. Verification of Receipt of Fish: The vendor shall furnish the park supervisor or his designee of designated park at time of delivery of each load, with a waybill in duplicate setting forth the net weight of the fish in the load. Condition: Fish furnished shall be of the catfish species and shall be healthy and vigorous. All dead, diseased, parasitized, and dying fish shall be removed from the load by the Vendor and the weight of such fish subtracted from the total weight of the load.
