The County of Sonoma is seeking to retain law firms with significant experience representing public agencies to supplement the capacity of County Counsel to provide legal advice and litigation services for the County Liability Program as well as for specialty areas listed below. The County’s Liability Program is administered by the County Risk Manager, and it generally includes the following types of claims and lawsuits: tort, property damage, Section §1983 civil rights claims, dangerous condition of public property, sexual assault and molestation (SAM) cases, and employment matters (e.g., wrongful termination, EEOC and CRD claims). The County also seeks proposals for legal representation in the areas of bankruptcy law, conflict counsel, privacy and cyber security law, and public entity risk pool/JPA/insurance coverage counsel.
