State Government Relations and Legislative Strategy Advocate on behalf of the Port regarding state legislative and regulatory matters, including legislative proposals affecting the Port. Serve as a liaison between the Port and key entities, including the Governor’s Office/Administration, California State Legislature, and State Agencies and Departments. Engage with legislators, regulators, and other key stakeholders to ensure the Port's interests are effectively communicated. Collaborate with Port staff to develop and implement state legislative strategies aligned with the Port’s goals and objectives. Legislative, Regulatory, and Funding Support Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the Port's priorities, proactively identifying emerging issues that may impact the Port. Provide timely updates, reports, and recommendations on legislative and regulatory activities. Develop and evaluate strategies for supporting, opposing, or amending pending legislation and regulations in alignment with the Port's goals. Facilitate legislation and regulatory actions through appropriate channels to achieve the Port’s objectives. Develop strategies to gain concurrence and support from the Governor’s Office and relevant administration officials. Work collaboratively with the Port’s leadership and staff, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with the Port’s strategic goals. Communication and Reporting Provide frequent updates to Port staff, including monthly reports summarizing activities, progress, and recommendations. Deliver real‐time legislative updates as needed to address emerging issues or opportunities.
