The objective of the Project is to empower Latino immigrant families by shedding light on the emotional and psychological challenges tied to the immigration experience. The Project seeks to foster understanding of how trauma, depression, anxiety, and intergenerational conflict affect mental health within immigrant households. Through culturally resonant storytelling, the Project aims to reduce stigma around mental illness and encourage open conversations within families and communities. By providing access to Spanish mental health resources and creating space for dialogue through post-performance forums, the Project will equip audiences with tools to recognize emotional distress, apply healthy coping strategies, and strengthen communication. Ultimately, the Project is designed to promote healing, resilience, and greater mental health equity in underserved Latino communities. A Vendor will be contracted to carry out the Project which will aim to accomplish the following: 1. Raise awareness about the emotional and psychological impact of immigration in the Latino community. 2. Educate families on identifying symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma, especially in intergenerational contexts. 3. Reduce stigma around mental illness through culturally sensitive storytelling and humor. 4. Promote emotional literacy, healthy coping strategies, and effective family communication. 5. Connect audiences to bilingual and culturally competent mental health resources in Los Angeles County. 6. Compile and disseminate a Latino UsCC-specific Mental Health Resource List and promote increased cultural competence among both community members and providers through shared knowledge and experiences.
