A. The landscaping service areas includes all lawns, all ground cover, and all other vegetation on the District 5 complex grounds. B. Weekly Services (one (1) service per week at each location): 1) Contractor shall mow and edge all lawn areas. 2) Contractor shall hand weed all planters. 3) Contractor shall collect and dispose of, in a legal manner, all trash and debris in Caltrans bins designated for this waste. 4) Contractor shall clear all walkways of debris and any potential trip hazards. 5) Contractor shall eradicate all gophers by using a mole and gopher repellant or animal repellant. Repellant will be approved by Caltrans Contract Manager prior to use. Contractor shall fill all gopher holes on an as-needed basis. 6) Contractor shall perform a visual inspection of each site, to include all sprinkler heads, and irrigation systems and notify Caltrans Contract Manager of any identified problems, including broken sprinkler heads. 7) Contractor shall replace broken sprinkler heads after notification of and approval from Caltrans Contract Manager. C. Monthly Services (one (1) service per month at each location): 1) Contractor shall hand trim all shrubs. 2) Contractor shall hand trim all flower plants and ground cover, as needed, to promote proper growth and flower production. 3) Contractor shall spot treat, as needed, with an approved weed control (Round-Up Extended Weed Control or equivalent product). The weed control product will be approved by Caltrans Contract Manager prior to use.
