The normal service employment of these traps will subject them to rainfall, direct rays of sunlight and high temperatures; therefore, it is necessary that the adhesion or other method of sealing (i.e., flame sealing) used for fabrication of the trap be waterproof and heat resistant. Item shall be made of white, bleached sulphate, solid paperboard .024 inch thick (.6096 mm) and polyplastic-coated on both sides. TRAP BODY • The trap body shall be 5 inches (12.7cm) long by 3 3/4 inches (9.525cm) on each of three sides. The contact surfaces of the fold over flap shall be finished via one of two methods: flame sealing or adhesion process. 1. Flame Sealing: One side shall be flame sealed to a 5/8 inch (1.59cm) wide flap that is lapped over the outside of the adjoining side, and located within 5/8 (1.59cm) of an inch above imprinted insect trap logo. Flame sealing is a reactivation process used to create a positive seal when fusing a double poly surface. The flame sealed seam shall be positioned at the top of the trap. The fusion process used to fabricate the trap must be waterproof, able to withstand temperatures of 120 degrees F (49 degrees C) and constant exposure to direct sunlight. 2. Adhesion Process: Removal of the poly coated surface prior to trap adhesion process (gluing) meeting the same specifications as above (1.). • In addition to the folded creases for forming the triangle shaped trap, there shall be a single scored crease within the triangle surface, located at the center bottom of the trap body, on the non-printed side (inner surface) of the trap body, so the trap can be folded flat for packaging and storage. • An insert shall fit tight enough in the trap to prevent sliding out when exposed to wind and weather. • Inserts for the traps are not needed, only the traps themselves are needed. • The two outer side panels shall have the labels imprinted as per the attached sample. • The flame sealed flap shall be on the trap side imprinted with "INSECT TRAP" (panel 2 in the attached diagram).
