Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Serve as the Mendocino County Public Health Officer 2. Serve as a liaison between Mendocino County Public Health and the community physicians. 3. Guide and direct the implementation of control needed in times of epidemic outbreaks of communicable diseases, biological or chemical incident and/or natural or manmade disaster. 4. Promote the development of programs of preventable diseases, home health services, maternal child health, emergency preparedness and other public health related areas as identified by the Mendocino County Health Services Agency Director. 5. Be available to present information focusing on education of the public in matters relating to public health. 6. Consult with the Director of Mendocino County Health Services Agency Director to give consultation when requested. 7. Provide consultative/advisory services to nursing staff in developing individual treatment plans. 8. Provide medical consultation to professional staff in measures directed at prevention and control of disease. 9. Work closely with California Department of Public Health concerning any infectious disease outbreaks. 10.Provide consultation to the staff in development of emergency preparedness plans. 11.Provide medical consultation to professional staff on environmental health issues.
