HERBICIDE APPLICATION - A. Treatment shall occur only between the months of October and February, outside of plover nesting season, and under the direct supervision of State Parks Natural Resources personnel. B. Treatment activities involve application of herbicide by a qualified applicator and in accordance with herbicide labels. C. Glyphosate based herbicides are the only acceptable product for use on the project. All herbicide applications will be performed by a DPR licensed pesticide contractor, with approved DPR recommendations for use of said product in the dune system. D. A non-toxic dye must be mixed into the herbicide solution to prevent double spraying at the project site and to identify treatment gaps. E. Herbicide will only be applied to the target species specified in this contract. F. Herbicide shall not be applied directly to sand or other permeable soil types, and herbicide drift to non-target areas shall be reduced by using low-drift equipment and careful spot spraying procedures. G. Herbicide will be applied according to the herbicide label and approved Pest Control Recommendation. H. Herbicide will not be applied while it is raining or within four (4) hours of a rain event.
