Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD or District) covers a total area of approximately 710 square miles. In addition to the City of Los Angeles, the District serves a number of other cities and several unincorporated areas of the Los Angeles County. Additional information pertaining to the DISTRICT may be found on our website at http://home.lausd.net. The District has implemented the full suite of the SAP ERP software that replaced its aging HR and financial & procurement systems – HRS and IFS. IFS and HRS are both mainframe systems from American Management System’s (AMS) Advantage product line. SAP is now the District enterprise system for HR, payroll, time reporting, budgeting, accounting, and procurement functions. It is time to begin the decommissioning process of the mainframe system. Data from IFS and HRS will need to be migrated to an Oracle database that can be queried against for historical reporting purpose. Data from IFS and HRS shall include master data, transactional data, and ledgers. HRS (Human Resources System) HRS went online in 1992 and was replaced by SAP in 2007. The original conversion to SAP HR did not include certain fields and not all the employee and assignment records from HRS were converted. Currently, HRS is kept online for research purposes such as district start date, assignment date, and for seniority and reduction-in-force calculation. There is no interface between HRS and SAP. IFS (Integrated Financial System) The District’s financial and procurement system called Integrated Financial System (IFS) has been in operation since 1993 and was replaced by SAP Finance and Procurement modules in July 2013. Since then no transactions occurred in IFS but it is kept online for research of historical data. There is no interface between IFS and SAP. In IFS, data will need to be extracted from approximately 300 physical tables and ledgers and for HRS, approximately 150 physical tables. The combined size of both databases is about 1.5TB. The Contractor will be responsible for data cleansing prior to migration. The District has Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) as its ETL tool. The District is open to using a different tool provided that the Contractor has the tool and the license to use it. Proposer is to indicate in their proposal the ETL tool to be used in the project.
