The Port is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to qualified developers and/or operators interested in developing and operating a publicly accessible hydrogen fuel site at Pier D within the Port of Long Beach. This RFP aims to identify viable concepts that align with the Port's environmental objectives and address the growing need for zero-emission infrastructure for heavy-duty drayage trucks. The Port is seeking proposals that demonstrate a high level of innovation, technical feasibility, and financial sustainability for the development and operation of a hydrogen fueling station designed to support heavy-duty drayage trucks. Proposals should not include fueling for light-duty or passenger vehicles. All costs related to the design, permitting, environmental review, and capital improvements for the successful development and operation of the site shall be borne by the selected party. The duration of an anticipated agreement will be subject to the proposed use and level of capital improvement investment.
