The objective of this contract is the control of the exotic invasive weed perennial veldt grass (Ehrharta calycina) within specified treatment areas at the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area (ODSVRA). Herbicide treatments will be broadcast aerially using a helicopter with a boom sprayer. Herbicide treatments are projected to be conducted twice each growing season (approximately November through March) within each treatment area. Only grass specific herbicides with the active ingredient clethodim and appropriate surfactants and drift agents shall be used for treatments. Herbicides will not be provided by the ODSVRA. Contractor shall be responsible for purchasing, storing, transporting, mixing, applying, and disposing of herbicides, surfactants and containers. Water will not be supplied by ODSVRA. As water is not available on site, the Contractor is responsible to obtain the water necessary for the treatments off-site and transport it to the project area with a water truck.
