The Heli Hydrant Project consists of construction new water facilities (including a pump house, 22,000-gallon reservoir, and 8,000-gallon helihydrant), pipelines, and various appurtenances, detailed further in the following paragraphs. The work will be performed between two contractors; one contractor to be selected and contracted by the City via this Notice Inviting Bids (NIB), and one contractor to be selected and contracted by the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACFD). The work to be performed by the City’s selected contractor will include the installation of a pump house, 1,000 gallon per minute (GPM) pump & motor (Total Developed Head (TDH) of 216 ft), 8-inch control valve, 8-inch reduced pressure principal assembly, 8-inch flow meter, valves and appurtenances, as well as site grading and pad construction, installation of vaults, 1500 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE piping, 70 of linear feet of 3-inch PVC piping, a block retaining wall, electrical equipment, fuel-tank relocation and appurtenances which will be installed by others in accordance with the project plans as specified hereinafter, project specifications as specified hereinafter for the Whittier Utility Authority, Los Angeles County, State of California, and in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (The Greenbook), 2021 Edition, and American Water Works Association (AWWA) Standards, in accordance with the project plans as specified hereinafter, project specifications as specified hereinafter for the Whittier Utility Authority, Los Angeles County, State of California, and in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (The Greenbook), 2021 Edition.
