A. Upon request from the CDPH Project Representative or designee, the Contractor shall pick up hazardous waste at the Richmond facility three (3) times per fiscal year with the option of a fourth (4th) pick up, if necessary. Contractors shall check in at the Main Security Gate and contact the CDPH Project Representative prior to the beginning of work. B. Hazardous waste shall be profiled, segregated, packed, and labeled in accordance with the United States (U.S.) Department of Transportation (DOT), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) regulations. Each container must be properly identified with respect to its chemical contents and other notations required by law by clearly marking the information on each container. C. Extremely hazardous waste must be packed separately in containers. Materials that may be chemically incompatible at ambient temperatures or other conditions, such as moisture or pressure buildup, must be packed appropriately. D. The contractor shall appropriately package, label, transport, load, unload, and dispose of reactive materials as required. E. The contractor must arrange for hazardous waste to be properly packed, labeled, and transported to a Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (TSDF) or sent to a recycling facility within forty-five (45) days of the date a hazardous waste log is provided to contractor for profiling and waste transport/disposal planning.
