The scope of work for the project includes, but is not limited to: 1. Develop a planning project to enable the County to implement a new ordinance language concerning the abatement of hazardous vegetation and combustible material to reduce fire hazards. 2. Research best practices, prepare plans, and identify future actions through gathering data from like areas. 3. Evaluate best practices and mechanisms required to enforce effective hazard abatement in rural communities to refine the County’s approach. 4. Create a comprehensive plan that enhances public safety and mitigates fire hazards in Mendocino County. The resulting plan should also assess resources needed to enforce the hazard-abatement ordinance effectively and propose procedures for reporting and implementing abatement activities. 5. Assist the County with completing progress reports, documentation, and any data as required by California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD)
