Specifications include, but are not limited to: The County of San Diego (County), Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is entering into a contractual agreement to conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of required behavioral health services documentation and contract monitoring practices. Contractor shall acquire information for this review and analysis through a variety of sources that provide and manage behavioral health services, including but not limited to HHSA’s Behavioral Health Services (BHS) staff, other counties within California operating as Specialty Mental Health Plans and Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery Systems, funding sources (state, federal, local, grants), other payors, and various behavioral health settings. The acquired information shall be used to identify areas for the County to further align its documentation and contract monitoring standards to Federal and State requirements as well as current industry best practices; and produce specific recommendations on strategiesto streamline documentation requirementsfor frontline behavioral health services staff by level of care and type of service, while ensuring adherence to State and Federal requirements and supporting the highest quality services for patients.
