The County of Riverside Purchasing Department, on behalf of the County of Riverside Department of Public Social Services (DPSS), hereafter referred to as the County, is seeking quotations from qualified vendors to coordinate event planning to provide African American hair care service events. These services will be provided through coordinated hair care events for foster youth within Riverside County Children’s Services Division (CSD). Hair care and personal hygiene contribute to a youth’s confidence and overall wellbeing. DPSS-CSD recognizes the need to provide haircare services to youth and hair care education to youth and their caregivers. The selected coordinator will be responsible for developing interactive, engaging and culturally relevant events that address the unique hair care needs of African American youth. These events will include educational workshops, product demonstrations and hair care services aimed at promoting self-esteem, cultural identity and hair health. The awarded CONTRACTOR will be responsible for planning and executing hair care service events for 25-200 African American foster youth, with a total attendance up to 300 attendees per event. A total of three (3) hair care events will be held each fiscal year (July 1 st through June 30 th ) during the following months but may be subject to change; August February June One (1) event will take place in the Desert Region of Riverside County, scheduled for either February or June.
