Contractor will drill and sample a total of nine (9) test borings across two sites, as described below: • Salinas site: Two borings to depth of about 30 feet, one boring to depth of about 60 feet (see Figure 1). • Gilroy site: Up to six borings to a depth of about 15 feet (see Figure 2). Contractor will obtain the required Monterey County and Valley Water boring permits. A TAMC Engineering Representative will work with the Contractor to conduct a site reconnaissance to mark boring locations and will observe drilling of the borings, log the soil encountered, and obtain soil samples for further visual classification and laboratory testing. Borings will be drilled with a hollow stem auger drill rig and will be sampled as follows: • Approximately every 2.5 feet within the upper 10 feet of the boring and every 5 feet below 10 feet, using Standard Penetration Test and Modified California sampling methods. • To allow for collecting samples for environmental testing purposes, Contractor will provide clean, unused Modified California liners. Contractor will arrive with decontaminated tooling and perform additional decontamination of drilling and sampling equipment onsite, as needed. • Assume up to eight (8) Shelby Tube samples will be collected at the Salinas site (clean, unused Shelby Tubes shall be provided by the Contractor). • Contractor will measure groundwater at the time of drilling (if encountered) using a Contractor-supplied water level measurement device...
