Annual Fire Sprinkler Testing and Inspection Scope to include but is not necessarily limited to: • Inspect sprinklers, exposed pipe, and fittings from floor level • Inspect hose, hose cabinets, connections, nozzles, storage devices, and standpipe piping • Inspect hangers and bracing • Inspect and flow test hydrants • Interior inspection of dry valves • Verify presence and legibility of required signage • Confirm correct quantity and type of spare sprinklers and matching wrenches • Clean internal components of dry pipe valves • Empty low point drains • Perform operational tests of Class I and III hose valves • Test control valves and all supervisory signal devices • Partial trip test of dry, pre-action, and deluge valves • Partial flow test of pressure regulating or reducing valves • Lubricate OS&Y valve stems • Lubricate hydrant stems, caps, plugs, and threads • Ensure all work conforms to NFPA 25 and local AHJ requirements b. Five-Year Fire Sprinkler Test and Inspection (Year 4 Only) Scope to include but is not necessarily limited to: • All annual testing requirements • Internal inspection of pipe sections • Internal inspection of non-externally resettable valves (deluge, preaction, check) • Internal inspection of strainers, filters, and orifices • Test and/or replace pressure gauges • Sample testing of extra-high temperature heads and heads in harsh environments • Full flow testing of private fire main hydrants • Hydrostatic testing of fire department connection (FDC) piping • Hydrostatic testing of manual and semiautomatic dry standpipe systems • Full flow test of automatic standpipe systems • Ensure all work conforms to NFPA 25 and local AHJ requirements
