Fiduciary counsel will be expected to provide the following range of legal services to OCERS' Board of Retirement and staff: • Respond to opinion and advice requests from the OCERS Board and staff, usually directed through OCERS Chief Executive Officer or General Counsel. • Provide advice and recommendations on a variety of matters, including issues involving the application of Article 16 section 17 of the California Constitution, trust law principles generally, County Employees Retirement Law of 1937 (CERL), the California Public Employee’s Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA), and other sections of the Government Code and California law applicable to CERL systems. • Provide such other legal services as requested by OCERS.
