The City of Sunnyvale (City) is seeking proposals from licensed Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture or Architectural firms to provide professional services for design and preparation of bid documents and construction support for the Fair Oaks Cricket Batting Cage project. The scope of work generally includes preparation of :preliminary design, design development, bid documents, and bidding/construction support for Public Works competitive bidding. Ancillary work includes environmental needs (CEQA Exemption) assessment and document preparation, construction cost estimating, schedule monitoring, preparation of reports and recommendations, and project management. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND A. Description This project is to design and construct a new enclosed 2-bay cricket and baseball/softball batting cage at Fair Oaks Park. The project shall include appropriate drainage, chain link fence, netting, security, electrical power and appurtenances. The design consultant shall also propose alternative materials to synthetic turf for the pitch surface. B. Location The project is located at the existing Fair Oaks Park located at 540 N. Fair Oaks Avenue. See Appendix 1 -Location Exhibit. C. Existing Conditions The project site is within the recently renovated and enhanced Fair Oaks Park completed in 2022. The park is an active and passive-use City-owned and maintained park which includes the Magical Bridge Playground, Sunnyvale Skate Park, reservable synthetic turf multi-use fields, basketball courts, picnic sites and dog park.
