The purpose of this RFQ is to solicit information from potential service providers to assist SOU leadership with the task of replacing the broadcast antenna for KNCA-FM Radio. Antenna General Description: 1. A full wave spaced, antenna system for FM analog and HD operation. 2. The antenna shall be six bays circularly polarized with full wavelength spacing. A : 3-1/8" EIA inner-bay line, and a feed element stem greater than 1-⅝” EIA, center fed. Input flange: 3-1/8" EIA, Female. Should include Brackets for mounting to a pole with an outer diameter of 5- 9/16”. The pole will be mounted on a 42" tower face. 12 KW input power handling capability. Must include a quarter wave shorting stub. Right hand circularly Polarized antenna. 3. Ice protection: Radomes for all bays and anti-rotation brackets all built for extreme icing and weather conditions. Specific Antenna Specifications: 1. Operating Frequency: 89.7 MHz 2. Full wave spaced. 3. Elliptical pattern. Horizontal 60%, Vertical 40.% 4. Beam Tilt: -1 degrees 5. Null fill: None. 6. Manufacturer must provide wind and weight values. Weight and effective wind area (CaAc) should include antenna, inner transmission feed, all with and without 1⁄2" radial ice. 7. The radiating element shall be of brass construction with an outside diameter of 1-5/8" or greater. The feed point is to be a welded attachment and completely internal with a pressurized environment up to the external radiating arm. The brass construction of the elements must withstand sever weather extremes and wind velocities up to 150 miles per hour. All inner conductors and connectors inside the elements shall be silver plated. 7. The proposed antenna shall have a low voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 1.05:1 or less, +/- 200KHz per channel. VSWR at the antenna input shall be 1.25:1 or less on an ERI Lambda tower section. 8. The antenna impedance shall be 50 ohms and the input flange should be a 3-1/8" EIA female for Center feed. 9. The antenna shall include a DC shorting stub. 10. The antenna shall include stainless steel mounting brackets and hardware.
