The intent of the Eyeglass Refurbishment Training Program is to provide the inmate workers with formal training in eyeglass recycling and neutralizing, including single vision, progressive, bi-focal, and tri-focal eyeglasses. Each participant shall receive training, certifications, and hands-on work experience in order to prepare them to enter the optical industry upon release from prison. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing the inmates, hired into the program, eyeglass refurbishing materials and training for the Eyeglass Refurbishment Training Program. The Contractor shall provide inmate training certification, upon completion of an eight (8) hour eyeglass recycling course, which includes maintaining a minimum production of 200 glasses per day for five (5) consecutive days for a full-time inmate worker, or a minimum production of 100 glasses per day for a part-time inmate worker, unless directed otherwise by the Institution Contract Liaison or designee.
