The County is requesting written proposals from qualified Applicants to develop the following County plans: • Kings County Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Plan In general, this project will require the following: • Conducting, leading and participating in meetings, clarifying any outstanding issues, and responding to any comments from the County, its various departments, as well as the Kings County Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Working Group and partnering agencies. • Meeting with appropriate County departments, agencies, organizations, and the public to gather the necessary information to successfully research, write and complete the plans, and to incorporate their roles throughout the plans, as appropriate. • Meeting with County staff and stakeholders, as necessary, to evaluate goals and issues identified in Kings County Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Working Group. • Conducting independent research to update information contained throughout existing County plans or for developing new plans. • Collecting and analyzing relevant data, such as historical heat event data, existing infrastructure maps, and demographic information. Produce products, both paper and digital for presentation, display and/or public service announcement. • Creating a list of potential, realistic projects to fight Extreme Heat, with instructions or strategies to get them “shovel ready” for future grant submissions • Identify and list potential grant opportunities that match proposed projects. • Incorporating whole community considerations, including, but not limited to, the needs of people with access and functional needs, those experiencing homelessness, and other socially vulnerable populations.
