Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. No painting or exterior finishing shall be done under conditions which jeopardize the quality or appearance of painting or finishing. The Contractor shall examine all the surfaces to be finished under this contract and see that the work of other Trades has been left or installed in satisfactory condition to receive paint, stain, or other specific finish. 2. Before starting work, the Contractor shall notify EDD in writing of any surfaces unsatisfactory for proper paint finish. The application of the first coat of any finishing process shall constitute acceptance of the surface. 3. Paint areas included, but are not limited to, doors, patio fencing, awnings and canopies, rail guards, backflow cages, trash enclosures, etc. as pictured in Exhibit A – Exterior Photos. Any additional areas will be noted during the mandatory walkthrough. 4. Painting shall only be done when surface is dry. All materials shall be applied at proper viscosity. 5. Each coat of paint shall be applied at proper consistency and brushed evenly, free of brush marks, sags, runs, with no evidence of poor workmanship. Color between coats of paint shall differ (color variations between coats should be enough to impair hiding). Paint shall be sharply cut to lines. Finish paint surfaces shall be free from defects or blemishes. All undercoats shall be a near match in color to the finish coat, but different enough to distinguish separate coats. 6. All doors, door trims, & window trims will need to be repainted in a color specified by EDD. The Contractor shall examine all the surfaces to be finished under this contract and see that the work of other Trades has been left or installed in satisfactory condition to receive paint, stain, or other specific finish. 7. Application of paint shall be by methods approved by Local Joint Labor Committees. The Employment Development Department's approval of spray applications shall be in accordance and subject to Union agreements for spray-able surfaces and types of finishes. 8. Power-wash the entire exterior of the building in its entirety. This includes all walls, gates, soffits, overhangs, window trims, door trims, etc. 9. Power-wash all exterior concrete sidewalks around the building including exterior patio. 10. Power-wash all exterior asphalt around the building. This task shall be performed last once all other tasks have been completed.
