This Request for Proposal (RFP) announces the intent of the County of Mendocino to contract with an Environmental Consulting vendor for the Wildfire Community Resilience Project. This project proposes to create defensible space around critical facilities: the Brooktrails Fire Department, the Brooktrails Township Community Services District offices, Sherwood School, Willits Municipal Airport, and the Lake Ada Rose and Lake Emily drinking water reservoirs with associated treatment facilities. This project will also conduct vegetation management along the Sherwood corridor and internal Brooktrails roads to ensure clear and safe passage for evacuations during fire events and other natural disasters. The County is currently funded for Phase I, which consists of LiDAR mapping, outreach, fuels reduction prescription development, and CEQA analysis. The selected vendor will assist the County to meet all state and federal environmental obligations, including CEQA analysis, develop fuels reduction prescription, and develop bid documents to complete Phase I of the Project.
