1.1. Fresno Area Express (FAX) is seeking an Architectural & Engineering (A&E) firm to modernize one Otis hydraulic passenger elevator with a rating of 2,500 lbs., located in the FAX administration building and one Otis hydraulic freight elevator with a capacity of 4000 lbs. in the FAX maintenance building. The A&E firm shall inspect existing conditions and provide engineering drawings and specifications to modernize the elevators. The A&E firm will also serve during the construction phase of work to review and ensure quality assurance on the project. 2. GENERAL SCOPE 2.1. The following scope was developed to capture major elements of the project scope. This scope is not inclusive of all work to be performed but is incumbent on the expertise of the A&E firm to factor in all mandatory and necessary tasks within their approach to work. 2.2. Project Objectives. The following list are the objectives of this project: A. Inspect and examine existing conditions of FAX’s elevators to understand and provide FAX guidance on modernization options. B. Provide all mandatory and necessary architectural and engineering services for the modernization of FAX’s elevators. C. Provide professional engineer drawings to prepare FAX for construction phase of work. D. Provide construction specifications to prepare FAX for construction phase of work. E. Secure all necessary permitting from the City of Fresno. F. Inspect construction contractor’s submittals to ensure conformance with engineer drawings and specifications. G. Provide inspections of construction contractors to ensure conformance with engineer drawings and specifications. H. Provide oversight of elevator commissioning and project closeout to ensure conformance with engineer drawings and specifications.
