The Embellece El Centro Downtown Beautification Project involves comprehensive streetscape and public space improvements across El Centro’s downtown core, including demolition and removal of existing pavements, curbs, lighting, and furnishings; grading and earthwork; installation of new concrete paving, ramps, curbs, and stage areas; construction of structural footings and CMU bases for signage and lighting; installation of metal architectural screens, illuminated marquees, and gateway monuments; refinishing and painting of existing stucco and architectural elements; integration of new LED and festoon lighting systems with underground conduit and utilities; addition of new curb inlet screen protectors, placement of site furnishings such as benches, trash and recycling receptacles, and bollards; artificial turf landscaping; and refurbishment of existing gateway signage—all aimed at enhancing aesthetics, accessibility, and functionality within the Town Square, Main Street corridor, and 8th Street entry gateway.
