MVU provides customer service, meter reading, billing, emergency response and other services to new commercial and residential developments located within Moreno Valley Electric Utility’s service area. In 2014, the Moreno Valley City Council formed a Utilities Commission to provide additional review for all matters pertaining to MVU. Commissioners are citizen or business owner volunteers, appointed by the City Council for three-year terms. 1.2. Project Overview MVU is seeking a proposal for a Distribution Automation (DA) system including wireless broadband Internet Protocol (IP) Field Area Network, Network Control Outage Management System/Advance Distribution Management System (OMS/ADMS), and automation of existing padmounted and vault switches. MVU desires vendors to provide equipment, software, implementation and associated services and support for centralized model-based automatic fault location, isolation and restoration switching application along with wireless broadband IP field network for the MVU smart grid system.
