The City of Pomona is seeking proposals from qualified companies for Employee Benefits Insurance Broker Services for dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, short-term disability and long-term disability insurance, EAP, and FSA administration, and other potential ancillary benefits in accordance with the included specifications, terms, and conditions shown in this Request for Proposal (RFP). The City of Pomona provides an excellent benefits package to its approximately 646 full-time employees. The City currently contributes up to $700 per month toward the cost of health insurance and a monthly Section 125 Contribution based on the employee’s medical plan election (single coverage receive $185, two party receive $975, and family receive $1,575) with the employees assuming the remainder of those costs. The City of Pomona offers its employees group health, life, disability, dental, and vision insurance benefits through a variety of plans. The City’s group health plans are provided through CalPERS. Dental benefits are provided through Delta Dental. Life and disability insurance and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees is provided through The Standard Life Insurance Company while vision insurance is provided through EyeMed. The City’s voluntary plans are currently administered by AFLAC. The City’s Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is currently administered by The Advantage Group (TAG). The City's objective is to not only seek a benefits broker, but also an advisor and partner in creating and elevating the City’s employee benefits to be competitive, innovative, and affordable. In 2025 the City will begin implementation of an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) project, which includes a new HRIS system and implementation of an integrated benefit system which would allow for online enrollment and changes, allow the City and employee to review and obtain individual employee information, and to improve the communication and sharing of information with City employees.
