Specifications include, but are not limited to: Elderly Nutrition Program Operation: The selected Proposer will provide the necessary staff and supplies to provide senior meals, Monday-Friday (except major holidays) at: Center Address Inglewood Senior Center 111 North Locust Street Inglewood, CA 90301 The City will provide the site and furnishings for congregate meals. The City will also provide a commercial kitchen facility and appliances onsite located at the Inglewood Senior Center for onsite meal preparation. The selected Proposer must provide dishes, utensils, storage containers, and any additional material needed for food preparation and service. Service items such as plates and cups must not be composed of polystyrene materials and are to be recyclable. The City shall provide the necessary staff and transportation to provide home delivered meals Monday-Friday (except major holidays) to home bound residents sixty (60) years and older in the Inglewood service area. Special Events: The Department holds approximately six (6) special luncheons for seniors for celebrations such as Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Approximately one hundred eighty (180) seniors attend each of these events. The selected Proposer will work with the Department to ensure a County approved holiday themed meal in the amount required will be available for the special luncheons. To assure that meals are prepared in a safe, sanitary environment, in compliance with the California Health and Safety Code, the WDACS Policies and Procedures and Contracts Management Manual, the Proposer shall comply with the following requirements. The Proposer shall provide a part-time Registered Dietitian (minimum 20 hours a week) who possesses a Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics with an institutional food service management emphasis from an accredited college or university, for supervision of the food service operation within the catering company and/or central kitchen, or The Proposer shall provide a qualified Food Service Manager who possesses a B.S. Degree in Food and Nutrition with an emphasis on food service management or restaurant management from an accredited college or university, plus 2 years professional experience as a food service supervisor; no less than 6 years of experience in the food industry at a supervising level can be substituted for the 4 year degree requirement. The Proposer shall provide a qualified cook, with at least 5 years experience preparing meals according to cycle menus, for at least 600 daily meals. The Proposer must submit the registration I.D. number and expiration date of the Registered Dietitian along with complete verifiable resumes of the Registered Dietitian and Food Service Manager for the County WDACS’s approval.
