Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide a Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funded Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) program that has a three-pronged approach to provide prevention and early intervention services to persons age 10-25 who may have emerging, ‘prodromal’ symptoms of psychosis. This program will focus on prevention, early intervention, and At-Risk Mental State (ARMS) services, hereafter referred to as the Early Detection and Intervention for the Prevention of Psychosis (EDIPP) program. Service components include: 1) the Prevention Component, which focuses on community leaders (‘gatekeepers’) who are provided education and information on early detection of behaviors and symptoms that are risk factors for the development of psychosis, and who shall assist Contractor to identify youth who are experiencing risk factors for development of psychosis; 2) the Early Intervention Component, which provides an initial screening and assessment for youth who are identified as being at risk for the development of psychosis and includes an assessment for potential mental health and/or substance abuse issues, domestic/community violence, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, and physical health needs; and 3) the Intensive Treatment Component for youth who are identified as being at high risk for the development of psychosis which includes comprehensive assessment and treatment, including psychoeducational classes, multi-family groups, support services, and other indicated behavioral health treatment interventions.
