1. MOBILIZE EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS ● Schedule with District. Tentative schedule should be provided at a preconstruction meeting. Will discuss Extended learning program dates and non students days as well. ● Access keys to these sites will need to be checked at the Districts M&O facility prior to start of work. Multiple keys will not be checked out due to safety concerns. 2. DEMO AND DISPOSE OF EXISTING EQUIPMENT (NOT IN THE SCHOOL DUMPSTERS) ● The contractor will remove all doors or equipment that is needed pertaining to this project. Any damage by the contractor to the VESD site will be fully repaired by the contractor at no additional expense to VESD. All repairs will need to be reviewed by the M & O Supervisor or Director 3. INSTALLATION ● Remove and dispose of all doors, door hardware per contract. ● Install new doors. Door should be installed free of dents, manufacturer's defects or blemishes. ● Install door sweeps ● Install weather stripping on the door frames ● Install continuous hinges to make sure that the door operates per manufacturer spec ● Paint all doors with two coats of paint per Districts color and paint specifications (Dunn Edwards Endura Semi Gloss industrial Maintenance coating (ENCT50). All dents or blemishes that are repaired need to be primed before applying the two coats of paint. ● Mask off all door hardware and hinges before applying paint. ● Install interior kick plate ● Install an “exit” device on the interior of the door. ● Install cylinder dogging kit ● Install door closer to meet all ADA requirements. Door needs to be secured without any assistance. ● Install vandal resistant trim ● Install “lockdown” latches (provided by the District). Make sure that when the “lockdown” latch is engaged, the door can not be closed/secured. ● Install all filler plates for previous hinges and strike plates. These filler plates will need to be painted to match the door frame. Follow the painting application that is recommended by the district. ● Install district interchangeable cores. These interchangeable cores will be provided by the District Locksmith. 4. LABOR AND MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT ● Provide all new, necessary usage labels (i.e. warning labels, appropriate age labels, room numbers (to follow what is already on site), etc.) ● Refer to page 9-11 of this document for installation material per school ● The contractor will provide a 1 one-year installation warranty. ● The contractor will coordinate work with the M & O Supervisor or Director of Maintenance and Grounds, Facilities and Transportation
