Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Nevada County Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Public Works Department is accepting sealed bids at 950 Maidu Ave, Nevada City, CA 95959 until the hour of 2:30 p.m. on August 6, 2024. The Dog Bar Road over the Bear River Bridge is located in southwest Nevada County and connects Nevada County to Placer County. This single lane bridge carries two-way traffic and due to its current alignment, there have been multiple accidents on this structure. The structure is currently rated structurally deficient by the State of California. This project proposes to replace the bridge over the Bear River. The old bridge will remain in place as the new bridge is constructed. The old bridge will be removed upon completion of the new bridge. The work to be done, in general, consists of constructing a new bridge, grading, paving, striping, installing MGS and removing the existing bridge. The work will be completed in two stages. Stage 1 is the construction of the new bridge and road approaches. Stage 2 is the demolition of the existing bridge and finishing the road approach construction. The two stages will be separated by a winter suspension to be determined by the Engineer.
