Specifications include, but are not limited to: Telecommunications Service for a multi-year contract for Lit Fiber Optic Ethernet Transport Services – E-Rateable Service: The District is soliciting qualified contractors to submit an installation and ongoing service bid for a point-to-multi point Lit fiber optic Ethernet Transport Service. All equipment included in the Lit Fiber Optic will be owned and maintained by the awarded service provider with no option for transfer of ownership to the lessee. The circuits included in this RFP are being re-bid because their contract terms are ending in the upcoming E-Rate funding year. The District does not currently contemplate changes to existing bandwidth needs or the A and Z location addresses for these connections. Should, as a result of this open and fair competitive bidding process, the District select the incumbent provider’s proposal as the most cost-effective, it is the District’s expectation that there be no interruption or change in service when migrating from the existing contract to the renewal contract. This requirement should not by any measure be construed as a preference to the incumbent provider(s); rather, it is to outline the District’s expectations for contract renewals should the incumbent provider(s) be selected as a result of the fair and open competitive bidding process.
