Project overview: DOJ stores boxes in temporary storage at the Los Angeles office until they are ready to schedule the pick-up. DOJ staff will contact the vendor to schedule the load pick-up. On the scheduled day, the vendor will move all indicated boxes from the temporary storage location to the basement loading dock while being escorted by DOJ staff. After all, indicated boxes have been moved to the basement, the vendor will palletize, wrap, and load them into their trucks. DOJ docking staff supervise the process. After loading is completed, the vendor transports load from the LA office to Pacific Storage facility located at 4601 Beloit Drive, Sacramento, CA 95838 the same day. LAAGO will notify Pacific Storage that a delivery has been scheduled prior to pickup. Pacific Storage on site staff will coordinate the unloading with the vendor’s employees. The contractor's responsibilities: Provide pick-up services upon request from the DOJ LAAGO Office. Provide the labor, materials, and tools to prepare the load for transport. Provide all necessary equipment needed (cart, hand truck, etc.) to move boxes to the dock. Provide all necessary equipment needed (pallet jack, lift gate, etc.) to move and load the pallets onto the truck. Move the boxes from the temporary storage to the building loading docks. Stack and prepare boxes on pallets of sufficient make and durability to support the estimated load for shipping. Shrink wrap pallets. Ensure that the pallets are wrapped tightly to avoid shifting and mixing up the materials during transportation. Move pallets to the truck(s) for loading. Contractor’s trucks must not exceed the loading dock height restriction of 12’6”. Load the pallets onto the truck(s); lift gate required. Transport the load from the LA DOJ office to the Sacramento storage facility. Deliver load at Pacific Storage located at 4601 Beloit Drive, Sacramento, CA 95838. Storage facilities are accessible. No onsite clearance is required. Coordinate unloading with Pacific Storage. LAAGO will notify Pacific Storage that a delivery has been scheduled prior to pickup. Be available as Pacific Storage unloads the load. If necessary, provide temporary secure dry storage solutions if load is unable to be delivered to Pacific Storage. o Load must be stored in a locked truck or container, or other restricted access area, such as a storage facility, garage or gated parking lot. o Contractor must provide same-day written notification of inability to deliver & need for temporary storage via email to LAAGO. Loading must be done in a safe and secure manner, using industry best practices. Be flexible to accommodate last-minute changes in the pick-up time and day. Coordinate pick up dates and times with DOJ Service Requestor. Provide services as needed based on the department's needs. Provide confirmation of load delivery via email to LAAGO confirming the following information (number of boxes, pallets, time & date of delivery).
