The Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), Vocational Rehabilitation Employment Division (VRED) is seeking a contractor to provide Customer Service and De-escalation training to staff who have frequent contact with the community. The DOR’s mission is to serve individuals with disabilities who are seeking a vocational goal. Therefore, this training will be tailored to staff who have frequent contact and communication with individuals with various types of disabilities including physical, developmental/intellectual, sensory (deaf or blind), or mental/behavioral conditions. The training is intended to equip staff with tools and resources to defuse difficult situations when providing services to the public in their everyday roles. DOR is seeking a contractor to provide 30 in-person trainings throughout the state of California, to reach an audience size of approximately 1,300 employees over the term of the contract.
