The goal of the Culturally Appropriate and Responsive Family First Program is for families to receive necessary supports in a timely manner, and programs/services that are culturally and linguistically appropriate, with the goal of increasing protective factors and decreasing formal system involvement, including for overrepresented and/or underserved families. There is a particular need to develop evidence-based practices or promising practices that provide in-home parenting education and, family functioning programs, substance use behavioral health and fatherhood supports that are culturally relevant through the Culturally Appropriate and Responsive Family First Program. The proposed services must not duplicate or supplant existing services already provided by the vendor. Instead, the services should be new, complementing and enhancing current efforts to address the identified needs.Services offered under this program must be made available to families of any background.
