The City of Torrance is requesting proposals from qualified vendors for Construction Inspection for the construction of the Beach Cities Green Streets Project located in the cities of Torrance, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Manhattan Beach. The Beach Cities Green Streets Project will capture, treat, and/or infiltrate runoff from areas tributary to the Santa Monica Bay Watershed in all four Beach Cities. The project is a multi-benefit project that will address multiple pollutants, including trash, bacteria, and more, with the design objective of achieving full capture of the 85th percentile, 24-hr design storm from each of the tributary areas. It will also include neighborhood greening elements where feasible along with the planting of 200 trees. The project is led by the City of Torrance in collaboration with the Cities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach. A project location map is available on the City’s website: Beach Cities Green Streets Project S-194. The following is a general description of the work in each city: 1. Torrance: The locations of the green streets will be along Kingsdale, Mansel, Grevillea, and Burin Avenues between 182nd Street and 186th Street; along Anza, Inglewood, and Firmona Avenues; and on 191st Street near 190th Street. 2. Redondo Beach: The locations will be in high density residential and commercial areas along Speyer, Belmont, and Pullman Lanes, Ford, Steinhart, and Goodman Avenues, and Anita Street. 3. Hermosa Beach: The area is bounded by Herondo Street and the City's southern border and the Santa Monica Bay to the west. Green street improvements will be constructed along Hermosa Avenue between 6th Street and Herondo Street, as well as throughout the tributary watershed. 4. Manhattan Beach: The locations will be along the northern side of Artesia Boulevard between S. Herrin Street and S. Redondo Avenue and along 19th Street at Elm Avenue and Oak Avenue.
