The Project’s goals are to enhance mobility, improve safety, and create multi-modal transit opportunities for all ages and abilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Project site extends along Cliff Drive from the Arroyo Burro County Beach Park entrance (west) to Castillo Street (east). The Project includes a three-mile separated-bike path along Cliff Drive that is part of the 30-mile long Coastal Bike Route from the University of California Santa Barbara to Ventura County. The following safety enhancements are included in the Project: Four new traffic signals along Cliff Drive; Fourteen new crosswalks and safety enhancements to four existing crosswalks; Safety features at crossings include curb extensions, median refuge islands, Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons, safety lighting, and high visibility crosswalk markings; A new crosswalk at Cliff Drive and Salida Del Sol for improved coastal access and safe walking route to Washington School; A wider sidewalk on Flora Vista between Cliff Drive and Red Rose Way;
