This class is intended to instruct the public works employees on appropriate procedures of Confined Space. Classroom training will include, but not limit to the following topics: • Regulatory requirements: Cal/OSHA regulations CCR 5156-5158 • Definitions and basics • Hazard of confined spaces • Hazard recognition and control • Atmospheric monitoring and ventilation • Rescue procedures • Injury and Illness Prevention Program • Permit System • Entry procedures • Duties of authorized entrance, supervisors, and attendants • Personal protective equipment, Standard First Aid, and gas meters • Training shall also cover materials from the approved Public Works Confined Space Manuals • Public Works Safety Directive G114 Confined Space Entry Program
