This class is intended to instruct the Public Works employees on appropriate procedures of Confined Space. Classroom portion (Total of 7 hours) Classroom training will include, but not limit to the following topics: Regulatory requirements: CalOSHA regulations CCR 5156- 5158 · Definitions and basics Hazard of confined spaces · Hazard recognition and control . Atmospheric monitoring and ventilation · Hazard Communication · Rescue procedures . Injury and Illness Prevention Program · Permit System · Entry procedures Duties of authorized entrants, supervisors, and attendants · Personal protective equipment, Standard First Aid, and gas meters Training shall also cover materials from the approved Public Works Confined Space Manuals . Public Works Safety Directive G114 Confined Space Entry Program Hands-On portion (1 hour) Practical training will include, but not limit to the following topics: Proper equipment usage: Harness, tripod, air monitoring equipment (gas detectors)
