Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of work for this Contract is to restore and modernize two double-ended historic Streetcars (798 and 913). As part of this rehabilitation effort, SFMTA wishes to modernize and standardize a limited number of critical subsystems. To the greatest extent possible, the Contractor shall restore the Vehicles to their original, cosmetic appearance, integrating the following upgrades as unnoticeable to the unsuspecting eye as possible: Chassis rehabilitation New PCC compatible trucks AC motors and Solid State AC propulsion system or Propulsion system with DC motors New master controllers resembling vintage master controllers Auxiliary power supply and battery pack Spring applied, electric solenoid release, braking system Deadman system Door/braking Interlock system with bypass switch Emergency stop red mushroom switches Tail and brake lights, improved headlight and marker lights Door obstacle detection system Passenger stop request system ADA stop request system Wheelchair accommodations Passenger door open switches Back-up bell Different paint and decal liveries Provisions for surveillance, communications, and fare collection systems
