Nevada County is inviting proposals from qualified non-profits/businesses to provide low-cost to no-cost Spay and Neuter services as part of an approved Community Spay and Neuter fund. This fund is aimed to support individuals and families who have unaltered cats or dogs. The Program purpose is to serve as many animals as possible to help reduce unplanned litters and control the pet population. The County is interested in partnering with multiple vendors to reach those in need of these services within the County targeting unincorporated areas where these services are needed most. Some of the areas identified but not limited to include; North San Juan Penn Valley South Grass Valley Or Eastern Region of Nevada County Eligible Proposers must be licensed, practicing veterinarians with qualified staff, capable of performing spay and neuter surgeries on a full-day or multi-day basis. The County is especially interested in providers offering mobile services, which would allow clinics to be held in high-need or underserved areas across the County. The County has allocated $75,000 for the program, which will operate through June 30 2026. Services may include, but are not limited to: Spay/neuter for owned pets of Nevada County residents Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for community/feral cats Community outreach and scheduling coordination This RFP will result in the award of one or more contract(s) to be effective for an initial term of approximately one (1) year.
