Project Overview The City of Camarillo seeks a qualified Community Health Consultant to develop the Healthy Camarillo initiative, a collaborative community health program between the City of Camarillo, Camarillo Health Care District (CHCD), and Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District (PVRPD). The consultant will create a comprehensive framework addressing key health priorities identified in the 2022 Ventura County Community Needs Assessment. Project Objectives • Implementation Strategy Development: Create a detailed roadmap that aligns with the existing MOU between partner agencies, ensuring coordinated effort and resource optimization. This strategy should clearly define roles, responsibilities, and resource-sharing mechanisms among the partner agencies to ensure a coordinated, efficient effort and optimal use of available resources. It should incorporate best practices from successful regional and national community health programs while addressing Camarillo's unique needs and demographics, ensuring programs are relevant. • Sustainable Programming: Design evidence-based health programs that can be maintained long-term through efficient resource allocation, community partnerships, and innovative funding approaches. Programs should be adaptable to changing community needs while maintaining core health priorities. The consultant will be expected to identify any gaps in current resources, recommend strategies to fill them, and build flexibility into the framework. • Governance Structure: Establish clear operational frameworks that facilitate effective collaboration between the three partner agencies. The governance structure should include developing decision-making protocols, communication channels, and accountability measures that promote smooth program operation and growth of each agency while ensuring timely, coordinated actions across the partnership. • Marketing, Communications, and Community Engagement: Develop a strategic outreach plan to enhance public awareness and participation in Healthy Camarillo initiatives. Utilize multichannel communication strategies, including websites, social media, local media, and partnerships with community organizations, to effectively engage diverse populations. Ensure that messaging is clear, culturally responsive, and accessible to all community members.
