Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Communication Network Backbone Contract consists of establishing a communication link between the operations control center (OCC) located at 101 Younger Drive and VTA’s administration offices at 3331 North First Street (normally called the River Oaks Complex) and the new BART Extension into Santa Clara County. The work will be installing a new fiber optic line within the VTA light rail corridor along Capitol Avenue, Tasman Drive and North First Street, using the existing communication ductbank. This fiber optic line is to connect systems type elements (CCTV, SCADA Access Control, etc.) located at the two BART Station Campus areas so controls and data collection can occur at River Oaks and OCC. Work will also include constructing the new Montague LRT Station communication room (approximately 33’ x 15’) at ground level, below the LRT viaduct. Contractor will be subject to restrictions to ensure safety and the continuing operations of the yard and shop and the light rail system.
