The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a Combat Logistics Force (CLF) Vessel special study to General Dynamics – National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO), 2798 East Harbor Drive San Diego, CA92113 (CAGE CODE 81220), to support feasibility and affordability assessments of Next Generation Logistics Ship (NGLS) requirements under existing contract N00024-16-C-2229. The action will include firm fixed price and/or cost type CLINs. The contemplated efforts will be negotiated and awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). NASSCO possesses the critical capability and experience in design and construction of CLF ships for the U.S. Navy.
The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one responsible source under the cited FAR Part 6 authority. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact NASSCO directly.
