The City of Clovis is one of the fastest-growing communities in the region and recognizes the need for a comprehensive, long-term trail wayfinding signage program. The purpose of this project is to develop a citywide signage program that enhances navigation, supports community identity, and improves the overall trail user experience for both residents and visitors. The selected firm will be responsible for developing a comprehensive trail wayfinding program and associated design standards that will serve the City for years to come. The program shall address the needs of various user groups, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists (seeking to access the trail), and public transit users. Signage must be informative, intuitively placed, and designed to be easily replicated or expanded as the City continues to grow. As part of this effort, the consultant will also prepare a Trails Resource Guide for use by the City and the development community when planning, designing, and constructing segments of the City’s trail system. The City also seeks the development of new entryway design to clearly identify key gateways into Clovis. These entryway signs should create a welcoming and distinctive impression, reinforce the City’s identity, and reflect the character of the surrounding area. Design standards must incorporate flexibility to allow for area-specific customization, enabling signage to reflect the identity and character of distinct neighborhoods and destinations within Clovis. A strong emphasis will be placed on establishing a sense of place and geographic awareness throughout the community.
