The project scope includes debris and trash removal, demolition of existing wingwalls, slope excavation, construction of four (4) new wingwalls, backfilling, installing concrete slab and rock riprap within the Creek to reduce scouring and erosion, installing guardrails, repairing damaged pavement, constructing two (2) new concrete barriers to be located above the existing bridge, and other related site work. In addition to construction related activities, this project will also require the implementation of the “Chiles Pope Valley Road MPM 3.63 Bank Stabilization Project, Mitigation and Monitoring Plan/Restoration Enhancement Plan” dated January 2024 (Exhibit C) and adherence to permitting requirements, refer to Section 1-1.07 under “Summary of Work”. The restoration enhancement and mitigation monitoring includes, but is not limited to, stream channel recontouring, non-native plant species removal, planting, maintenance, and other related site work. This project will require riparian habitat restoration plantings along the channel and banks upstream and downstream of the project area and three (3) years of maintenance and monitoring. Maintenance may include activities such as irrigation, erosion control, and replacement planting, as needed.
