There will be ten $2,500 commissions awarded to each dance on film producing artist or choreographer to facilitate the creation of a 2 – 4 2 to 4 minute dance on film video inspired or influenced by the work of William Castle. For this commission, artists are required to: ● Submit a final 100 word bio, a head shot, and a movement shot to be used as publicity assets by August 21, 2024; ● Obtain--if artist does not already have--and submit a BTRC (City of Los Angeles Business Tax Registration Certificate) and payment paperwork—directions will be provided--by August 21, 2024; ● Have a social security number; ● Share involvement in the project through personal and/or professional social media accounts including the following hashtags: #dca-lankershimtheatre #dca-madridtheatre and #culturela; ● Submit a 100 word description of the style, thought process, expression, and theme of the dance on film video including the title of the work by September 6, 2024; ● Submit a video still by September 18, 2024; ● Create an original dance on film video specific to this project and submit the final edited version by the September 29, 2024 deadline; ● Provide DCA with a final version mp4 file copy of the video; ● Promote the Premiere Screening event through your network and social media accounts; ● Invite artist’s friends and family to the preview screening and provide them with the designated tickets; and ● Attend all Screenings: Preview and Premiere (dates are listed above).
