This project is a combination of a water main replacement and street improvement project including all associated fixed public works improvements. The water main replacement includes installing approximately 1,600 linear feet of new 8-inch PVC water main. This new water main will replace the existing 1928 6-inch/8inch water main which will be abandoned in place. This project will also include installation of fire hydrants, service laterals, valves, blow-offs, air release valves, and other associated water appurtenances (valves, services, and fittings). The connection of the proposed water main on Narbonne Avenue into the existing water main on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) right-of-way will require coordination with Caltrans District 7. Following water main replacement, the entire width of the street will be rehabilitated by cold milling approximately 4-1/2 inches of existing asphalt concrete and replacing it with approximately 6 inches of asphalt concrete. Existing utilities will be raised to grade. One lane of traffic in each direction and parking on one side of the street will be maintained at all times during construction.
